Major silliness, of course, but we all need some silliness in our lives.

I saw this photo at Yahoo! and couldn't help but laugh. Oh, if only it were true!

We've had a lot of celebrity deaths recently, everyone from Don Knotts to Kirby Puckett, but seeing this news when I looked at the CNN website this morning shook me up the most.

Dana Reeve, Christopher Reeve's widow, has passed away at the age of 45, due to the lung cancer that she announced she'd been diagnosed with last fall. It seems extraordinarily cruel, after everything she'd been through in the last few years of her life, and all the grace and dignity she'd shown during those last few...

I've been hooked on Lost since the first second of the first episode. I really am addicted, y'know. Going through withdrawals since last week's episode was a repeat. Thank goodness this week's episode will be a good, fresh fix.

I thought the vast majority of the commercials shown during the Super Bowl yesterday were downright stupid and not worth talking about. But there was one ad that aired during halftime that was brilliant. It took one of my favorite songs from the 80's, Robert Palme...

I don't know how many of you read Heart of the City, but it's a great comic strip. It never fails to make me laugh, because it's clever, funny, and appeals mightily to my inner geek. Today's strip is a prime example of why I love it...I can sympathize with the sentiment, believe me.

Although I've always been more an Addams Family kind of gal, I did enjoy The Munsters too. So to read this this afternoon was sad indeed.

January 28, 1986...7 brave explorer souls made the ultimate sacrifice and were lost in one brief, horrible moment that is difficult to forget, and for me, still difficult to watch on TV after all these years.

Let's remember their sacrifice today, and for goodness sake, let's get ourselves back into space!

Pregnant mom of 14 arrested; 3 kids found in abandoned house

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- A pregnant woman has been taken into custody after three of her 14 children, showing signs of abuse, were found taking refuge in an abandoned house, police said Friday.

"The kids told us that the suspect regularly punches them with her fists and hits them with a broomstick and belt," police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said.

I'm starting to feel like someone needs to create a pop-up blocker for our TVs. It was bad enough when channels starting using the station ID "bugs" in the lower right hand corners of our screens. Now it's gotten worse than that. Much, much worse.

What is it with stations lately, with their advertising that pops up in the corners and takes up at least a full quarter of the screen right in the middle of programs? There's nothing worse than watching something and being really into what you'...

I couldn't help myself, I laughed like hell when I read this. This is courtesy of humorist Andy Borowitz, in his daily email newsletter that came out for today:

JENNIFER ANISTON ACQUIRES NUCLEAR WEAPON

Actress Jennifer Aniston stunned the international community today by confirming reports that she had acquired a medium-range nuclear weapon capable of reaching Malibu, California.

While Ms. Aniston's personal life has been the subjec...

Sometimes I really do hate people. And that's not good when my job is composed of constantly working with people. See, I'm a nurse, and I'm the intake coordinator for our local extended care facility that's connected with our one local hospital.

Sometimes my job is very busy, as I'm scurrying around trying to fill the beds, which makes sure we have income, and which also makes my boss happy. 99% of our admissions come from the main hospital, and the other 1% come from other facilities (lik...

I was fiddling around with my account at Wincustomize, finally realizing that I can definitely change my user name that's displayed (I wanted to get rid of the old Jinn Fizz handle because, well, it's a long, tragic, and boring story), and I came to also realize I haven't posted here in my blog at JoeUser for over a year. Shame on me! So time to change that.

But how to start? Ah, well, how about a safe little bunny picture that I just thought was the cutest thing in the world when I saw it...

I finally went through the process of changing my old Hotmail address to my Gmail account last weekend, and something odd is happening when I try to view Gmail in IE. Whenever I click on the subject of any email to view it, doesn't matter which email it is, IE crashes and shuts down, every single time. It also happens on rare occasions when I view Gmail in Firefox as well. Is this happening to anyone else? Or, as usual, am I the only oddball this is happening to?
